Reiki Spirit with Authors Kelly M. Halverson & Monica M. Latus - April 2024

Greetings Fellow Reiki Enthusiasts!

Monday’s solar eclipse got me thinking about connectivity, effects of the moon and how Reiki may pair up with moon phases.  I must say, I was happily surprised to see and hear about all the people that really came together to be a part of the solar eclipse excitement.  I haven’t felt this type of connectivity on such a large scale for a long time!  Cosmic alignment is a powerful thing--people forgot about their stress and differences--it brought excitement and a sense of community.  What a wonderful thing!

My son is currently living in Ohio, which was along the path of totality, and he took this amazing picture!  My husband and I didn’t have solar eclipse viewing glasses, but we sat outside yesterday and noticed the temperature drop, a slight darkening and heard the birds respond to the return of the sunshine.   When we take the time to really stop and tune into the energy of the Universe, cosmic events and nature, we restore our connectivity and can realize how truly incredible it all is.

Reiki News and Tips

The Moon is associated with feminine energy, nurturing, and the subconscious mind.  The power of the moon is also intricately connected to intuition and psychic abilities due to its profound influence on our emotional and spiritual bodies.  With the Moon’s association with our subconscious mind, it can guide the course of our emotions through intuitive insights and gut feelings.  The Moon can also influence our dreams, leaving intuitive messages.

Blending the energy of Reiki and the Moon is great for cleansing energy that no longer serves, manifestation, and distant healing.  Distant healing allows us to send this amplified energy to a different date or time, eliminating the obstacle of nightfall.

When you align with the energies of the Moon, you are aligning yourself with the natural cycles of the universe.  This enhances our connectivity, giving us balance and harmony.  Following are just a few ways to use the phases of the Moon with the energy of Reiki for manifestation, the list is as endless as your imagination.

New Moon:  is a good time for setting intentions and starting something new.  Take advantage of the fresh wave of energy we receive as the moon transitions into the new moon phase.  Set an intention, create a vision board or put your goals into action.

Waxing Moonis a good time for growth and manifestation.  The Moon’s energy intensifies as it progresses into the waxing phases.  This energy can help to propel us forward on the intentions or new goal we set with the New Moon.  Take advantage of this increased energy and let it move you forward on your goals.  Make a to-do-list to help you reach your goal, then start tackling the list while visualizing your success and desired end result.

Full Moonis a good time for release, reflection, and celebration.  Use the energy of the full moon to release what no longer serves us, to reflect on our accomplishments (big or small), celebrate our growth, and express gratitude.

Just as the moon is at its fullest, our emotions are also running high.  Use this time to shed light on any negative patterns or emotions that might be hindering your progress.  Perform a releasing ritual by writing down what you wish to let go of on a piece of paper and burn the paper under the moonlight or take advantage of this added energy and practice Reiki self-care in the moonlight.

Waning Moonis a good time for introspection, healing, and preparation.  As the energy of the Moon subsides during the waning phases, this is a good time to turn inward and embrace the gentler energy.  This is a good time for introspection, healing, and de-cluttering your life.  Look inward for the answers you seek, what habits or beliefs are holding you back, let the gentle energy of the Moon and Reiki be your guide.

Take the time to de-clutter or organize an area of your home.  Clutter and not being able to find things can be stressful.  We think more clearly when an area is organized.  Parting with no-longer used items that we have emotional attachments to can be hard.  Take pictures of the items as a remembrance, thank them and then donate or give them to someone who can really use them.  This is also a good time to meditate, eat healthy, get outside to reconnect with nature, and take care of yourself.

Take a bath in the energy of Reiki and the Moon to release and heal emotional wounds and cleanse your mind, body, and spirit.  This can be an exercise as simple as:

  • Find a quiet, comfortable spot in view of the Moon. This can be indoors or outdoors.
  • Connect to the energy of Reiki.
  • Close your eyes, visualize and feel the energy of Reiki above your crown chakra.
  • Keep that visualization and now add the visualization and feel the energy and light from the Moon surrounding you.
  • Slowly breathe in the energy of the Moon through your nose and let it combine with the energy of Reiki at your crown chakra. Breathe this energy down through your body and let it cleanse you.  Exhale any energy that no longer serves.  Repeat at least three times, then just sit in the beautiful, combined energy letting it flow throughout your body.
  • Put your hands in Gassho, bow your head, and thank the beautiful energies of Reiki and the Moon.

You can find endless information about the Moon online and in books.  Find something that resonates and enjoy the increased intuition and the endless benefits this powerful celestial body can bring to you and your Reiki practice!
